A wide-spread drought in Zambia has resulted in failed crops and dried up streams and wells for families like Lawrence’s. People are travelling hours each day to collect water, and digging holes in the ground to find water. Save the Children is rapidly responding to the drought crisis in Zambia by distributing food, cash, safe water, and school meals. Our local health partners are identifying and treating malnutrition and childhood diseases. We are supporting farmers with small livestock, and indigenous drought-tolerant and early maturing seeds.
